It can be difficult to ask for help due to fear, shame or just the unknown of what may happen after asking for help. If you or a loved one are having mental health issues, talk to someone you trust. There are numerous support groups community-based programs and agencies who able to provide professional help from licensed counselors, therapist and psychiatrist to assist you on your journey to wellness and stability.
If you are not sure where to start, ask a friend, your doctor for a referral or complete a Google search and do some research before scheduling an appointment. There would be too many to list, so below are a few links that have an abundance of resources to help connect you with a plethora of links and connections.
You can share your experiences, make a connection online, look for information, find videos and articles to inspire and give hope. Many have visited the BCI web site and Hundreds have gone to the Facebook page, found it useful, helpful and connections with others who have experienced mental health issues in one way or another. BCI’s hopes you will find the site beneficial in your journey, recognize your strengths and empower yourself through self-awareness, education and sharing your own experiences.
Programs and activities within communities so that local participants may have access to services and information intended to change behaviors to reduce the risk of disease within the community. The purpose of these community-based resources varies from assisting an individual to make healthy lifestyle changes to supporting the community as a collective group.
